E. Lucille Fauteux (Loftus), 89, went home to be with the Lord on October 20, 2016 in Melbourne, Florida. She was born in Palmer, Massachusetts on June 15, 1927 to Francis and Yvonne Loftus.
After graduating from Palmer High School, Lucille attended The College of the Mount Saint Vincent in Bronx, New York where she earned a B.S. in Mathematics.
Lucille married Charles Armedas Fauteux on January 4, 1958 in West Harford, Connecticut. They were happily married for 30 years. Lucille was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Palm Bay, Florida where she served for many years as Eucharistic Minister and was a founding member of the St. Joseph Community Secular Order of Discalced Carmelites. Lucille also attended Mass regularly at Florida Tech and had a very special place in her heart for Fr. Douglas Bailey, the staff, and students.
Lucille was preceded in death by her beloved husband Charles, and her brother James Francis Loftus.
Lucille leaves behind three children, sons Charles Fauteux of Chesapeake Beach, Maryland, George Fauteux of West Melbourne, Florida, daughter Mary Compton of Anchorage, Alaska, granddaughters Faith Compton, Charity Bishko (Timothy), and Rhya Fauteux, great-granddaughter Emily Berry, two nieces Susan Christiana (Joseph), Catherine Diaz (Eduardo), and three nephews Michael Loftus (Margie), Marc Loftus (Cathy), and Christopher Loftus (Patty).
Lucille’s heartbroken family would like to express their sincere gratitude and blessings to her caregivers over the last few months. The family is so appreciative of the love and care she received. Just as Lucille unfailingly brightened the day of everyone with whom she came into contact, her caregivers made every day she spent in their care a special day.
Lucille’s family and friends have been blessed by the example of her life centered on faith, caring, and the outpouring love for others.
