Bernard Antonio Femia, 88, died Friday, October 7, 2016, from complications following a heart attack.
Born in New York City, Ben spent 30 years in the US Air Force and lived all over the world. He attained the rank of Chief Master Sergeant and moved to Indian Harbour Beach in 1974 with his family. He retired from Patrick Air Force Base in 1976. After retirement, Ben returned to school and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree from Rollins College in 1986. His hobbies included fishing and making the world’s best clam sauce spaghetti.
Ben was a loving husband, father, brother, and grandfather. He married Lois Marion Stephens on April 3, 1954 and they remained married until her death in 1986. His family includes his daughter, Cynthia Wright, and her husband, Stephen, of Mt Pleasant, SC; his brother Carmello Femia of Melbourne, FL; and his granddaughter, Lindsay Wright, of Athens, GA.
