Dr. Martin L. Franklin, 75, died Friday, August 19, 2016, peacefully at his home in Palm Bay, FL. Born in Louisville, KY on July 31, 1941 he was the son of David W. Franklin and Mildred E. Franklin.
He received a Bachelor of Science degree from Otterbein College; Master of Science Degree from Penn State University; and a Doctor of Philosophy from The University of Vermont. He was employed by Malone Central School District from 1970 to 1980 as a chemistry teacher. Upon relocation to Florida with his family he taught at various schools in the Miami-Dade area. He relocated to Cleveland, TN after retirement and recently he and his wife returned to Florida.
He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, the former Deborah J. Hosler; his sons Richard (and wife, Lisa) Franklin, Jason (and wife, Michelle) Franklin and Ryan (and wife, Kimberly) Franklin. He is also survived by his grandchildren Matt, Trevor, Sean, Emma, Simon, Maya, Megan and Jenna; brother David (and wife, Carol) Franklin along with his mother in-law June Hosler; sisters-in-law Sharon (and husband, John) LaPage, Kathy (and husband, Richard) Jock, Wendy Reville; brothers-in-law Alan (and wife, Jackie) Hosler and Michael (and wife, Lynn) Hosler along with many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents; sister Brenda (and husband, Bill) MacCurdy; father in-law Leo Hosler and brother in-law Edward Reville.
