Ray Robertson, 70, of Palm Bay, passed away on Wednesday, August 23, 2017, in his home with his beloved wife of 50 years by his side. Ray was a loving husband as well as a cherished father and grandfather who was dedicated to his family. He will be greatly missed by all those who love him. Our hearts are broken and the loss has left an immeasurable emptiness. Ray fought valiantly to overcome his very recent diagnosis of Leukemia (AML). During this difficult time, Ray found inspiration in the following quote: “When life becomes too hard to stand…kneel.” His spirit now flies free.
Ray was an honorably discharged U.S. Marine. He owned an auto body shop in Plymouth, MA, before moving to Palm Bay, FL, in 1993 where he continued to work in auto body for many years. He loved visiting family in Newfoundland, Canada, as well as taking family trips to New Hampshire and North Carolina. He had a strong love for all animals and raised many pets throughout his lifetime. After retiring in 2011, he enjoyed spending time with family and working in his yard and home.
Beloved husband of Betty Robertson; loving father of Dayle Gervais, and Terri & Andy Lefler; cherished grandfather of Alyssa Gervais and great granddog Barren; son of Frances Robertson and the late Freeman Robertson; brother of Sandy & Arthur Lacey, and Ruby & Jon Boss. Ray is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, as well as his extended family and friends.
