Theodore "Ted" Evangelista - October 04, 1924 - November 12, 2016

Theodore “Ted” Evangelista, 92 passed to eternal rest on Saturday, 11/12/2016 at The Fountains senior living residence, Melbourne, Florida.

Born in Newark, NJ to the late Theodore and Fannie Evangelista, Ted was the youngest of five siblings; 4 brothers and 1 sister. Ted lived in Irvington, Bloomfield and Brick, all located in New Jersey, before retiring to Melbourne, Florida in 1989 [Carriage Circle at Satellite Beach; Somerset Lane in Fieldstone at Suntree]. Ted and Jean Evangelista resided in the Suntree community of Melbourne until their move to The Fountains in 2010.

Ted served in the Army Air Corp where he trained as a ball turret gunner during World War II. Ted then graduated from Seton Hall University and worked for the Internal Revenue Service as a Treasury Officer for 30 years until his retirement. In their retired leisure, Ted and Jean traveled about the continental United States, and ventured to Europe, touring Austria, France, Germany, and Italy. Ted will be remembered for his sharp wit, strong sense of fair play, and uplifting spirit for his family and friends, a love of laughter, and his avid love of Jean, as well as their shared pleasure in good food, fine wine, and social Ballroom dancing.

Ted was the beloved husband of Jean Evangelista for 66 years, who pre-deceased him in 2015. Ted is the cherished father of Thea Doll (nee Evangelista) Indialantic, Fl, and Dr. Anne Evangelista and her husband Joe Rhodes, Collegeville, PA. Ted is also survived by two grandchildren, Major Quintin Doll and Andrea Bell (nee Doll).
