John's passing was sudden to family and friends, as he was fighting so hard to stay with us and was not expected to deteriorate so rapidly. He fought with all his strength and determination he would beat it. However, his type of cancer was very rare and aggressive. At the time of his death he was surrounded at his home in his own bed with his wife, brother, sister, and children at his side.
John had a passion for cars, enjoyed going to the races at Daytona, Turkey Rod run to view all the old cars. As well as any other car show he could find. On his 60th birthday he was given a 1987 Corvette. He was like a little kid, he enjoyed driving around and showing his car. Another hobby was traveling; taking Cruises and flying to other destinations to see the US. He so much enjoyed Hawaii, and the Grand Canyon. Our life plan was to soon retire so that we could start traveling across the US and see all the beauty our country has to offer. We would often lay in bed and talk of our trips and what we wanted to see. We wanted to drive so as to not miss anything.
John was such a loving, honest and trustworthy husband and one of the best fathers I have ever known. He enjoyed being a soccer coach to his children, and an Indian Guide. They were his pride and joy. He enjoyed watching and feeling proud of the men they have grown into. He so much wanted to watch his grandchildren grow into admirable men and women. He taught his children well as they are all excellent parents, as they learned from his lead. This is his legacy that his children and grandchildren will grow and have grown into strong adults and become excellent parents and partners in life.
His family moved to Santa Barbara, California from NY when he was a young boy. He loved the sun, sky and beaches, and has always wanted to return and visit the area. When his grandfather became ill they moved back to Horseheads, New York. His father then opened The Wisneski Dental Lab.
When his father retired, and John graduated high school he had learned the family business of which he took over as his first career- The Wisneski Dental Lab. As time passed his brother got older and got into the Dental Lab business. John then moved to Florida and the Dental Lab business was turned over to his brother Mark. His final career in life was Pest Control. He became certified through the Florida Department of Agriculture and opened his own business. CornerStone Pest Control of which he has had customers as long as 30 years. He would often say “it is a hard job at times, but it is like going to visit with my friends.”
He is survived by his wife Georgiana of 26 yrs, his mother Shirley, brother Mark of New York and sister Lyn of Oklahoma. Also he is survived by his most treasured gifts. 4 sons and a daughter. Never was a man more proud of his children. John Joseph Wisneski III of Tampa, Eric Daniel Wisneski of Georgia, Robert Michael Wisneski of New York, J Thomas Hutchens of Melbourne and Leigh Anne Hutchens Clendenen of Alaska. His next best joy was to watch his 9 grandchildren grow and play. Kristopher Wisneski (11), John Joseph Wisneski IV (10), Nicholas Wisneski (9), Piper Hutchens (9), Benjamin Wisneski (7), Oscar Hutchens (7), Ariana Wisneski (6), Robinson Wisneski (3), and Curtis Clendenen (16).
