Melvin B. Richey, Jr., 82, of Melbourne, FL, passed away on September 11, 2016 at The Viera Health & Rehabilitation Center. Born May 17, 1934 in Indianapolis, IN, he was a loving father of six, raising his children in Phoenix, AZ, Atlanta, GA, and Melbourne, FL. He was a retired promotional advertising entrepreneur, who enjoyed golf, fishing, sunsets over the Atlantic, and hosting kids and grandkids.
Mel was preceded in death by two brothers, Conrad L. Richey of Phoenix, AZ and David E. Richey of Indianapolis, IN; and his parents, Melvin Richey, Sr. of Louisville, KY and Dortha Cox Heib of Phoenix, AZ.
He is survived by: two wives, Frances S. Montgomery (husband Bill) and Kaye C. Richey; one sister, Kathy Selby (Phillip); three sons, Scott D. Richey (Michaela), Stephen J. Richey (Roberta), and Robert M. Richey (Margaret); three daughters, Ellen M. Richey Carabajal (Nestor), Julie L. Richey Miralles (Mark), and Melonie Kaye Richey; thirteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
