Adeline Zulema Bernadotte-Trevant, daughter of the late Terese and Charlemagne

Bernadotte, was born October 31, 1927 in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. She was a beautiful girl full of laughter and love for others; she attended primary school in Haiti. At an early age, she professed her faith in Jesus. Adeline became the epitome of courage and excellence.

Affectionately known as “Manotte” & “Tante Pepen” to many. She moved from Haiti to the United States in the 1960s to be closer to her younger sister, Marceline and her children, Denia and Gina. Falling in love with the bright lights, excitement and promises of America, she decided to make it her home. Her daughter, Katia followed her shortly thereafter to be reunited with her mother. They lived in Brooklyn, Boston, and Queens.

Adeline embraced the SDA message with the help of her long-time friend, Claudette Moravia. She was baptized in 1977 at Maranatha SDA Church, where she was an active member in many departments within the church.

Retiring in 1990, she moved to Palm Bay to join her daughter, Katia and other family members. In 1994, she was united in marriage with her long-time friend, Pierre Alix Trevant until her passing.

Her sister, Marceline Remy, her brothers Andre Bernadotte, Eberle Bernadotte, Jean Jacques Bernadotte have preceded Adeline in death. She had a special bond with each of her siblings and the thought of her reuniting with them is pleasing to our soul.

She is survived by her husband, Pierre Alix Trevant; younger brother Stenio Bernadotte; older sister Jeanine David; only daughter, Katia Behrmann (Guy Behrmann); 3 grandchildren, Shantal Magras (Jean Magras), Steve Behrmann; Shawn Behrmann (Michelle Behrmann) and 3 great grandchildren, Jade and Jashan Magras, and Tianee Hernandez. Her nieces, Denia Dudley and Gina Caravano and a host of other nieces, grandnieces, nephews, and grandnephews, other family members and friends.

No more sorrows, no more pain – never crying again. You will forever be missed and as her favorite saying goes, “Benit soit l’eternel” which means “Praise the Lord”.
