Janice Gaffney Hilmer, 93, passed peacefully on the morning of her 70th wedding anniversary Wednesday, August 24, 2016.
She was born in Harrisburg, PA on September 26, 1922.
She moved to Eau Gallie in June, 1956 with her husband and children. She was active in the Eau Gallie community, working in the schools and PTO. She was a girl scout leader and a member of the garden club. She worked as a clerk for the Supervisor of Elections.
She was very active in St. Paul's United Methodist Church and was president of the United Methodist Women. She enjoyed being a member of her Sunday school class.
Janice is predeceased by her husband L.D. (Skeets) Hilmer and 10 brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her daughter Vonnie Hoyman (son in law Chas), her son Christopher Hilmer (daughter in law Sherri), grandchildren Heather Hager (Ben), Christopher Hoyman, Matthew Hoyman (Kristen), her great grandchild Alex, a brother Homer K. Gaffney (Mitsuko) and many nieces and nephews.
