Willis Joey Barrington of Rockledge, Florida, died November 17, 2015. He was born in Bloomingdale, Florida, near Brandon, where he grew up and attended Brandon High School before serving four years in the United States Navy.
Willis came to Brevard County in 1964 where he began his career in the Space Program, which included unmanned and manned space flights before retiring in 2000.
Joe loved sports of all kinds, but most of all he loved being with his sons in the deep woods; hunting, fishing and enjoying nature or being on a lake with his wife, who loved fishing as much as he did.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Mary Elizabeth Barrington and two sons, Joey Dewayne and his wife Christine; David Lamar and his wife Julie; four grandsons, Joshua, Tyler, Kyle and Ryan all of Rockledge; brother, Doyle; sisters, Lois and Annette all of Brandon; and daughter, Sherre DeLys of Australia.
