Julio Enrique Apolinaris, 82, passed away peacefully in his home on Thursday, September 14, 2017
Julio was born July 4, 1935 in San Juan, Puerto Rico
He was preceded in death by his brothers Antonio Apolinaris and Osvaldo Apolinaris. Julio was survived by his sister Lucy Abarza, brother-in-law Tony Abarza, son Angel Apolinaris, daughter Nancy Grimaldi, daughter Norma Vargas, son Julio Apolinaris, and daughter Wanda Apolinaris, by his 12 grandchildren, and his 13 great-grandchildren.
There is no conceivable way to know what words can most exactly describe and celebrate the life of a man loved so dearly by so many. But for those who knew him, Julio would not wish to be honored in words, but rather tribute paid to his legacy through how those he loved choose to live their lives because of him. For there was no better teacher of kindness, of respect, of honesty, or of hard work, than Julio. And while he was a man of profound virtue and sincerity, one of his greatest contributions to our lives, was laughter. With his wit and his charm, Julio knew no strangers. He was the kind of man you always wanted to be around, always wanted to learn from, make proud, and for many, the kind of person you hoped to become.
For the many things for which he will be remembered, the tenderness of his heart and depth of his love will be among the most cherished. A man is not truly gone until he is forgotten; now more than ever, it is Julio’s unconditional love and strength that keeps him alive always in our hearts. And it is our emulation of that love in our lives that honor his legacy forever.
