Ford David Crews, age 66, of Melbourne, FL, born in Hattiesburg, MS to the late, Ford S and Myrtle Holsten Crews, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 15, 2017.
His family remembers that while still in diapers a little dog names Butch pulled him from a pond. He went on to attend Jones Junior College in Ellisville, MS and the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, MS.
He worked as an Industrial Engineer at Ingalls Shipyard in Pascagoula, MS as a Quality Assurance Manager at Johns Manville in New Orleans, LA. Then as an Auditor at Northrup Grumman for a combined 30 years in Los Angeles, CA and Melbourne, FL where he recently retired. He was APICS Certified (American Production and Inventory Control Society), wrote a published article on the Management of Raw Material which he presented at the Aerospace and Defense Symposium in Washington, DC.
He had an inexhaustive passion for science, nature, and history. He was a talented poet avid marksman, dancer, runner and rollerblader.
His family includes his daughter, Colleen Crews; her mother, Marianna Colvin; his brothers, Robert E. Crews and Sidney T. Crews; along with many nieces and nephews. He has been preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Martha Jeanette Crews and brother, Donald Madison Crews.
