Richard M. Krauss - April 22, 1933 - June 28, 2017

Richard M. Krauss, of Melbourne, FL passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday June 28, 2017, after a  tough and long battle with Pancreatic Cancer.

 

Born on April 22, 1933 in Fords, NJ, to Robert Richard and Marjorie Natalie(Hendrickson)Krauss. He was predeceased by his wife Marian (Iorillo) Krauss, a brother Robert and his wife Stella of Edison, NJ and sister-in-law Rosemary of Las Vegas, NV.

 

He is survived by 2 sisters, Roberta Edley and husband, Frank, of Ft.Pierce, FL, and Carol Chamberlain and her husband, Ron, of Epsworth, GA., and a brother Giraud (Jerry) of Las Vegas, NV. 2 Daughters, Patricia Melani and husband John, of Melbourne, Fl and Gail Lorentzen of Seaside Park, NJ. 6 Grandchildren, Michael, Christopher and wife Megan, and Deanna Henning, and Quentin, Brian, and Nicholas Lorentzen. Also, 3 Great-Grandchildren, Parker and Jaxson Henning, and Tallulah Henning. Also, several nieces and nephews.

 

He was a decorated Marine Corp Veteran, serving in the Korean War. Was a Member of the Fords Fire Dept. and the Hopelawn First Aid. Served on the Rent Leveling Board in Woodbridge, NJ, under 3 Mayors, and an elected commiteeman for Hopelawn, NJ. Owner of his own business, he retired to Florida with his wife. He was also a lifelong Member of the VFW and was 3rd in command at Post 8191 in Melbourne, FL

 

He was a man who lived his life to the fullest, impacting many people along the way. "Richie", as he was known to his friends, and "The Messenger" and "Rain Man" to his family, enjoyed his Karaoke, Dancing, and especially the "OK" Golden Corrall. He was always smiling, never judging, and will surely be missed by many.
